Just getting started with a new blog -Tales from the Field: Adventures in Conservation PR.-ever been tossed by a North Atlantic Right Whale, nearly drowned while banding mottled ducks, gotten stranded overnight on an island while banding American Oystercatchers, held one of the smallest bats in your hand in a swamp or stood 2 feet away from 50 foot flames on a controlled burn all in the name of conservation? Read my stories here. Never a dull moment as I try & teach the world about rare species.

About Me

Kristina Summers works for Thursday Green Media as a Social Media Consultant specializing in Wildlife and Natural Resource Conservation and received a BA in Journalism and Public Relations from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. She is currently working on a MS in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Development also at UGA. She enjoys being outside in the sunshine, playing baseball with her three children, watching "The Simpsons” and trivia games.

Her passion for the environment and human rights is evident in her advocacy work with the GADNR, the Susan G. Komen foundation, Girl Scouts, the World Wildlife Fund as well as The ONE Campaign of which she is a former director. She was recognized by the NAACP Image awards in 2006 for outstanding social justice for her work with ONE. She completed the Breast Cancer Three Day event in Atlanta in 2005.

She has been blogging for nearly three years and written articles for newspapers, magazines and online journals. She often is asked to conduct social media seminars for conservation organizations, teaching other "Green" Pr pro's how to use social media tactics for wildlife and natural resource conservation and management.

She lives with her family in Statham, Ga. She often tells people her purpose in life is to leave the planet a little better than she found it.

Kristina Summers' blog is Everyday PR.
