I have 25 years of writing and marketing experience and a great track record of success in marketing development for a diverse portfolio of companies.
I began my career in small market radio and newspaper and entered public relations primarily because I was a single parent and the career track looked a little more reliable here. My first PR role was as an Information Specialist for the largest MR/DD facility in the State of Indiana.
When I was finishing a degree in PR at Butler University I got the opportunity to work with two software developers out of Carmel, Indiana who introduced me to the Internet. Very quickly understood this was going to change things, though I didn't realize how much.
In the early 90's, I published two editions of the book, Life In Cyberspace: The Professional's Guide to Internet Public Relations & Marketing, sponsored by the Hoosier Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). I was the first instructor to offer a
curriculum design on Internet Communications in the School of Continuing Education at Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis.
I spent eight years focused solely on eBusiness/eCommerce, developing successful branding, sales and marketing initiatives for national and global brands. This wasn't really satisfying: I'm committed to Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) as both a branding philosophy and strategic business tool.
Now I work across multiple media channels and integrate around brand. I've spent equal time in agency and corporate leadership roles over the last 10 years and discovered that the best way to create a work-life balance and ensure some stability in your career is to work for yourself.
An award-winning writer and marketing strategist, my work has been recognized by the Business Marketing Association of Indianapolis, the Interactive Advertising Competition, the Hoosier State Press Association, the Direct Marketing Association of St. Louis, the National Association of Mental Health Information Officers, the National University of Continuing
Education Association, and the Web Marketing Awards.
As an independent agent, I'm committed to Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) and focus on making all aspects of the marketing mix work together. My primary advice to clients is to create a formal brand architecture that meets the needs of each stakeholder segment and build out tactics based on stakeholder needs. Primary service areas are Advertising, Branding, Creative Development, eBusiness/eCommerce, Public Relations, Research
