If this question has already been asked, I apologize. But it's a big one. I and other young professionals I know have taken menial jobs (retail, fast food, etc.) in the past to support ourselves while we search for something else. In many cases, these jobs helped us gain skills and experience. The question/s are: Should you list these jobs on your resume if you have a short list of experience? And, how should you talk about it during an interview?

It takes a lot of patience and ability to deal with difficult customers in any low-cost retail environment. Especially if you stuck it out, this will be a great way to talk about what you have learned about customer service and teamwork in a less than glamorous environment.
