By day: Fighting the "can't do" attitude of a typical white-collar corporate culture and attempting to promote a spirit of innovation and improvement within my department and the organization.
By night: Learning about business as a Part-Time MBA student. I don't have a business background at all and my studies have proven to be so eye-opening. I've learned a lot, met some amazing people, and really really learned to manage my time! A lot of work, but such a great experience.
My dream: Start and run my own company. Some ideas are brewing... In the meantime, I'd love to get involved in a start up or small company. I'm drawn to fast-paced, fast-changing, innovative, creative places. The work I've gotten to do on new product development was done with a highly creative and agile team (cordoned off within our organization). That project has now wrapped up (hugely successful, by the way!), and I miss it terribly!
Still figuring out this role. I'm the business owner for all the clinical-based decision algorithms within the organization. I'm working on improving the quality and usability of this data, as well as designing and implementing more effective processes for its management and maintenance. I'm currently designing a long-term strategy for how an improved version of the content can be used to integrate with external vendors and provide even greater value to our customers and end users.
New product development - get to the bottom of the business problem and work with technical teams to produce a process and user friendly software-based solution. Decision algorithm development - increase consistency and ease of use for complex decision processes.
