About Me

Kayla was born in Wisgansin (spelled according to the local pronunciation), grew up in a lovely suburb outside Atlanta and decided to go to the sunshine state to work on a degree in public relations. She is currently a senior at Flagler College taking her final coursework while working with non-profits in the community as an account executive in the student-run public relations group Dow Advantage. Last year, she had a fantastic learning experience promoting literacy in the community with Learn to Read of St. Johns County, Inc. This semester, she is excited to begin working with a new client she brought into Dow--The St. Augustine Art Association. She is also looking forward to meeting professionals in the community through her internship this semester with the North Florida chapter of PRSA.

In this blog, she might get sidetracked from PR and social media at times and start talking about gluten-free food or the fascinating people dressed as pirates that frequent the streets of downtown St. Augustine. This is partly because Kayla has one of those Gen Y technology-shaped brains that like to multitask, and partly because she believes that blogging has so many great functions that it would be a shame to limit one's purpose.
