I am a detail-oriented, organized, and goal-oriented individual. Multi-tasking is a strong characteristic of mine, and I am able to handle multiple tasks and complete each one on time (if not before). I have vast experience in marketing, social media, advertising, psychology, research, and focus groups. My technical skills range from knowing Microsoft Office to Illustrator to SPSS.
I am a highly motivated individual who is always looking to learn and grow, while allowing others to do the same.
Promoted from my GA position, I am now professional staff. I manage the website and work with Web Services to maintain updated, relevant information. All advertisements, both on- and off-campus go through me, which I conduct research, develop content, design materials and edit every project. I work with interns, employers, alumni, students and faculty in order to help build awareness for the CDC and develop stronger relationships between them and us. I develop and execute new initiatives (i.e. Featured Intern & Employer of the Month), and connect with those involved. I also manage a work study student, in which case I train him/her for employer outreach. I'm responsible for photographing events and obtaining consent, as well as developing video ideas, editing them and posting them. I work with a variety of social media sites to promote career tips, our services and jobs/internships.
This position entails helping the Career Development Center (CDC) enter into the world of social media, promote and develop various workshops and events, and design marketing pieces. As a GA, redesigning and editing the CDC website is a priority. Specific tasks include developing focus groups (i.e. gathering participants, connecting with businesses and analyzing data) and developing videos (i.e. filming events, conducting interviews, developing commercials and editing the film). The CDC helps students, alumni, and employers connect with each other to help create opportunities in the internship, job and career worlds.
As a CRS, I work with candidates who need assistance with job development. This includes resume development, practicing interview skills, gaining volunteer positions, job placement and on-site training. As a Job Developer, I connect with local companies to determine what their needs are. I try to connect employers with WOU candidates in order to fulfill employer needs with the wide variety of skills and talents of WOU candidates.
This position entails managing the office under the Sr. Administrative Assistant. Duties and responsibilites include phones, copying, handling confidential files, designing display cases, and promoting the Offfice of Residence Life. This deadline-driven environment also called for helping with orientations, housing assignments, trainings, and hiring.
This position entailed programming for and monitoring a residential hall, and being specifically responsible for approximately 30 residents. Monthly academic and social programs occured, in which one designed, developed and executed all aspects of the program; this includes reporting all expenses to the supervisor and completing all necessary paperwork. Monitoring the building during assigned hours was also a regular task, in which conflict mediation, analytical skills and interpersonal skills were a must. Working independently and with a team are dominant characteristics of this position.
Assisted with answering phones, handling confidential files, taking care of consumers, creating marketing pieces and working with the staff.
This internship allowed me to work with various small businesses, develop contact lists, prepare presentations, and research industries, competitors, and products for ABI's clients. I attended Chamber of Commerce meetings, helped introduce specific social medias to the office, and updated various informational pieces for ABI.
