I have been working professionally in the field of communications for more than three years. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to participate in the development and execution of public relations campaigns covering different practice areas. My professional interests include media research, content writing and media monitoring and analysis. In the future, I would like to apply what I have learned to provide digital communication services in an agency setting.
As a project manager, my primary goal was to keep a clear line of communication between clients and the Pixascope team. I managed deadlines using Apollo project management software and ensured that projects were completed on time and to the client's specifications. I was also responsible for drafting proposals, copywriting and marketing strategy.
During my time with Edelman I worked closely with the corporate, technology and digital teams. Job duties included creating media lists, researching speaking opportunities for clients, conducting traditional and social media audits for new business proposals, social media monitoring using radian6 and compiling coverage reports.
In this role I was responsible for all social media efforts for the Navigator Institute. I maintained Twitter, Facebook, and various social media accounts and launched the company's first PPC campaign.
I have had the opportunity to provide freelance services to a variety of companies including Sales and Marketing Technologies, Endavo Media and Communications, Inc., Riverside Facial Plastic Surgery and Sinus Center and award-winning photographer Iman Woods. Most of my services have included search engine optimized Web copywriting, but I have also conducted social media monitoring and pitched clients to traditional media outlets, yielding coverage in both local and national publications.
As an account coordinator, I was responsible for drafting press releases, fact sheets, pitch letters, boiler plates and proposals. I utilized Cision MediaSource to build trade and consumer media lists for clients representing an array of industries. I also participated in new business pitches and client meetings. Although I left the company in September 2008, I continued to provide occasional freelance services until February 2009.
I started off with QMG as an intern and was promoted to a full-time role upon graduating college in December 2007. During my time with QMG I was responsible for compiling media clips from the past five years to make the company's first clip book. I assisted in nearly all aspects of the development and execution of public relations campaigns, including media research, material development, pitching and media relations. I also fielded media inquiries and arranged interviews for the founder/CEO. I worked with a variety of clients from different areas of the restaurant industry and was able to secure coverage in top trade magazines including Nation’s Restaurant News, Restaurant Business, Fast Casual, and Cheers.
