Vickie Elmer How does Facebook figure into your career, job search approach? I just wrote a piece for Fortune.com about how and why Gen Y doesn't share its job or employment info on Facebook as much as Gen X and Boomers do - it's at http://bit.ly/wTtt1g . (Research by Dan Schawbel's Millennial Branding.) It made me wonder how much of our career information does show up on Facebook, and how that's changing. So how do you use Facebook professionally? And any advice for others who are just starting on this?

Hi Suzanne,

I agree with the previous comments on rebranding and also volunteering. Volunteering is way to get that start-up experience and you can also request people's comments / feedback / recommendations which you can put on your website (with their permission of course). Why not just market yourself and just add to your profile as you develop new skills?
Regards,
Michael.

For me, strong coffee and some good classical music set the background for getting things done. Focus on the task at hand, and don't get distracted too often. Take SHORT breaks every hour, and then get back to work.

Taft Love I am a criminal investigator in Western NC. At 27, I am the youngest to make detective and supervisor at my PD - on the fast track. I would agree with Cooper. I think Horror and Thrillers are separate, though sometimes they overlap, like a Venn diagram.

To my mind, the difference is in the goals of the movies. A horror, of any type from gore to psychological, is out to scare the pants off of you. A thriller is out to get your adrenaline racing. Often this is done by putting the main character in a scary situation but it can also be done by cloak and dagger fights or high suspense hide and seek games. Horror can use the same methods (hide and seek with the monster is a classic), but it's goal is not just to get you to hold your breath as you find out what will happen next, it's to get you to scream when it happens.

There's only been a few that really scared me. The origonal "Alien" is one. "In Cold Blood", as something based on a true story is another. The original "Cape Fear" with Robert Mitchum is another good one.

Other than those and a few others, the rest are not even worth watching for me.
