Justin J. Boone Converting connections from social networks to paying customers should be a critical focus of any social media campaign. Otherwise you’re only improving the experience for the social networks. http://bit.ly/hjtDOM

TOP IDEA: Justin J. Boone Hey NYC folks! I've started working with a collaborative artists group on fundraising for an art installation to be on display later this summer in the Hudson River called, Reflecting the Stars. It's an awesome piece about the effects of light pollution on our planet and ways to reduce the amount of light pollution we create. I'd be grateful for your help in spreading awareness for the project, as well as support. Here's the link on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/reflectingthestars. Thanks!

Ryan Paugh As a Community Manager, how are you measuring success? Is it in members? Number of interactions on your site? How do you report what's going on to other members of your team? I feel like one of the hardest parts of managing an online community is communicating the value you're bringing to the table. So how are you doing that?

Just like in any profession, the best way to prove your worth is to explain your value to other team members in ways that they can understand.

I have been very open with the community on all the data I will collect. Still a struggle trying to connect the data to community goals but as always - work in progress. Would love feedback from others on my goals and if I am missing something simple.

Ryan Paugh New question for you guys: How are you planning to keep your communities engaged over the Holidays?

It's still a great time to try to connect with people. I think that one thing I'm planning on doing on Brazen Careerist is reminding people that the slower pace of the Internet makes for great opportunities for networking. Once January rolls around, the pace will pick up pretty quickly.
