Hi everyone. Anyone have any best practices for preventing Twitter Spam? Protecting my Twitter updates has worked well enough, but any other suggestions would be welcome!

Can perceived age ruin your personal brand? I've been trying to find a job since August, and despite doing more-or-less everything correctly, I cannot even secure an interview. I'm not as young as I look, but people tend to want to peg me as under 21. In fact, at the place I'm temping, the job I'm doing was recently filled by someone younger than me who has less experience, but looks older. (And I was not ever given the opportunity to interview due to a lack of experience.)

I work for a professional women's association and a big part of my job is to provide professional development for women, but my age is constantly preventing older women from taking me seriously. I may only be 24, but I am certainly qualified to do my job well. One woman once asked me at a conference if I was old enough to drink! I wish I had some sound advice for you, but all I can say is keep trying and someone is bound to see your qualifications! 111 weeks ago

I started my own company 2 years ago and I made the conscious decision to not give up my age until asked. I had to prove myself - on and offline - beyond a reasonable doubt to make sure that my age wouldn't make them question me but actually amaze them. Now when they hear that I'm 21 I get a "woh" besides *rolling the years*. Impress the hell out of them! 110 weeks ago

I hope I can re-invigorate my career in 2010 by getting back to the basics of my personality and using the skills that come natural to me. I would like to focus on moving my career towards opportunities that allow me to use my voice and presentation skills. A training/facilitator/consultant position is where I am focusing. I realize that is a little bit broad. As I continue to search and get input from others, I think I will be able to narrow my focus.

Do you have any video footage of you presenting/facilitating? You can use those clips to add credibility to an online resume, like VisualCV. 112 weeks ago

I have a question for you all on comments. I get pingbacks when my blog posts are tweeted from sites like topsy.com, ubervu.com, and realurl.com. While these pingbacks show up as comments and help boost the comment count, I worry that there are serious SEO implications.
Do you all receive the same pingbacks? How do you handle them? Thanks!
