About Me

Joseph Wilburn is an aspiring public relations consultant beginning his second career at the ripe old age of 28. In his first career, he worked his way to middle management in the call centre industry and saw first hand the opportunities and challenges facing that industry. Joseph is passionate about the "C" in CRM and providing good customer experiences. He hopes to synthesize that into his new career.

He is also a prolific blogger and social media conversationalist. He was a nominee for the 2005 Best Canadian Blog in the progressive political category for his now-defunct Canadian Perasma blog. His current blog, PR Cogitations, started out as a blog on his experiences as a PR student and continues as a conversation of the PR industry as a whole.

When he's not working, you can find him exploring the fantastic local food and spirits, exploring the roots of his family tree, driving the back roads, kicking back having a laugh with friends and family or just sleeping. He loves a good nap!

He holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Washington and an honours postgraduate certificate in Public Relations from Niagara College (Welland, Ontario). He aspires to start his M.A. in the near future.

Born and raised in Seattle, Joseph now resides in the Toronto area courtesy of the perks of dual citizenship.
