I'm a passionate, committed vegan and supporter of animal rights. I spend a good deal of my time volunteering at the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (http://www.phillypaws.org), cooking and baking, food shopping, reading, writing, blogging, and wandering my new city of Philadelphia. Prior to moving, I was a medical editor at a clinical journal in New Jersey. You can find my writing at the blog I created, Mutual Menu (http://mutualmenu.blogspot.com) as well as at the award-winning blogs I contribute to, Vegans of Color (http://vegansofcolor.wordpress.com) and Girl with a Satchel (http://girlwithasatchel.blogspot.com). My writing also has been published in BUST, Elle, and Guitar World, albeit as letters to the editor but you've got to start somewhere. I live in Philly with my fiance, Brian Kantorek and our adopted dog, Benji.
Wrote 30-40 monthly departments a year, edited feature articles and columns about federal health care and recent medical research, and pitched stories to senior editorial staff. Oversaw peer review process and spearheaded the annual directory of federal health care facilities, in which I garnered a 100% response rate from 140 facilities three years in a row.
