I'm pursuing my first big side project and would love some Brazen peeps to be a part of it. I spend all of my time helping businesses leverage WordPress for their website. I want to take everything I've learned and share it in a weekly/bi-weekly newsletter. I've worked with companies like HubSpot, DataXu and Canon USA on WordPress. The newsletter is free and I ultimately want to make a book out of it when I finish on all things WordPress for businesses. Please Subscribe! http://wpbusiness.info

I found a very bad call to action plugin on WordPress so I decided to create my own that made use of WordPress 3.0 custom post types and sidebar widgets. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/call-to-action/ It is very much still in beta but I am using it on my site with great success. The plugin displays a Call to Action in your sidebar based on the current category. Just assign each Call to Action with a few categories and you are good to go. Let me know how I can make this better.

I find I use an array of sites to learn more about my competition and other sites within my niche. I finally collected all of them in one post. What sites do you use to spy on the competition? http://www.jonbishop.com/2010/10/competitor-website-reports-and-analytics/

Anyone have any tips to make your blog more readable and shareable? We already know content is king, but how does the king dress? Typography: - Increased Line-Height - Easy to read font (I personally like 14px Helvetica) Presentation - I like lists and blockquotes to punctuate main points Sharing - I don't like the AddToAny and ShareThis buttons because they are too small. - I prefer actionable buttons that display number of shares. Creates social proof.

How will you use WordPress 3.0? I know a bunch of you BrazenCareerist's are using WordPress for your website, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for their sites once the new version of WordPress is released. I would personally like to expand my portfolio and use the new Content Type functionality. Anyone else have ideas that might make use of MU, BuddyPress, the new content Types and Taxonomies? College for all? Experts say not necessarily. Do you think we are missing the "mind-opening effect of an undergraduate degree" or is it time we make "certification as the new education currency — documentation of skills as opposed to mastering curriculum." http://bit.ly/dvdXcd - via www.msnbc.msn.com

I have extensive experience working within the WordPress environment and have developed multiple themes and plugins for clients and friends. I can do everything from small template tweaks to complete overhauls. I’ve been developing websites since 1999 with HTML, PHP, Flash, CSS, XML and multiple other web languages. I work with the best designers and am always focused on quality. I am constantly developing a solid understanding of how social media can be used on both personal and professional levels. I firmly believe in practicing what you preach and I hope my blog and online presence can be a testament to that.
