About Me

Realizing an entire world exists out there, Jon a South African native, immigrated to Canada in 2003 and set roots in the beautiful city of Calgary, Alberta just east of the Rocky Mountains. He is currently employed as a high-tech janitor in the upstream Oil & Gas Industry supporting computer systems and thingamabobs with lots of flashing lights. He is an experienced problem solver with over 10 years of experience in his field. His main responsibilities include blaming others for things that seemingly go wrong by themselves but which are in actual fact caused by his alter-ego and making sure the techno-peasants are in their "happy places" at all times, a task which exercises his diverse spectrum of talents.

Jon subscribes to the "as long as you're breathing, class is in session" school of thought and believes that real world experience is the only thing that counts but also values certifications. Graduating College with Honor's in Network Engineering Jon continues to learn and pursue interests of a technical nature. He is naturally talented in all things technological and has a deep seated interest in improving efficiency through the deployment of productive tools and believes that most repetitive tasks can, and will eventually, be automated. His favorite quote is "Work Smarter, Not Harder".

Outside of work Jon enjoys mountain biking, reading fantasy novels, playing computer games and mingling with the Web 2.0 community.
