John Chen currently serves as the publications manager for the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) based in the Washington, DC area. As the youngest staff member and only representative for Generation Y in the workshop he feels it is his duty to stir things up in the workplace and provide fresh perspectives to his co-workers. John graduated from California State University, Chico in 2006 with a B.A in Graphic Design, a B.S. in Instructional Technology and is currently pursuing his Masters in Instructional Design and Technology.
Born in Japan, John and his family moved to California when he was only three years old. More than 23 years later he finds himself transplanted again from California to the East Coast, more specifically the Washington DC area. He looks forward to fulfilling his stereotypical Gen Y traits in his new surroundings.
In addition to being a hyperactive learner at work, John has a strong passion for cooking and learning new recipes and food pairings - a trait he naturally received from his father, a long time chef. His secret fetish is the Food Network and is a closet subscriber to the new Food Network Magazine. John would most like to meet his cooking idol, Bobby Flay.
