I've worked both as an economist and leadership practitioner for almost 30 years. I see myself as a student of leadership, continually learning about this discipline, which includes writing a leadership blog.
Co-workers over the years have told me they see me as a thought leader, especially since I like new ideas and rocking the boat in constructive ways. My passion for leadership extends to helping others learn, and much of this occurs through connecting with others in cyberspace.
After over 28 years with the federal government, I'll be exiting in December, ready to start a new career. Over the past year I've learned a lot about website development and maintenance, blogging and networking online.
I have Masters degrees in economics and leadership. Outside of work, I'm an active member of Toastmasters International (Past President of my club). I love playing jazz piano, and do a lot of reading on business economics, political leadership and geo-politics, not to mention the occasional espionage thriller. Mountain biking is my favourtie rec activity, along with walking my Yellow Labrador Retriever, Max.
My 28 year career has spanned labor market research and analysis, economic forecasting, policy development on innovation and global competitiveness, knowledge management and leadership development.
This program aims at mid-career professionals and is conducted primarily using distance learning, with two residencies during the two years.
