Alexis Dubief Fan Page Vs. Networked Blogs - Thoughts? I realize this is not necessarily an either/or question. But should I even bother with networked blogs and have people who follow me there OR via the fan page? Or is networked blogs an unnecessary step and I should focus exclusively on building up my presence via my own page? Anybody have any experience (good/bad) with the benefits/issue of networked blogs on FB? Thanks!

JenG What does college or grad school really teach you? In the words of my former graduate advisor, "I learned I could teach myself anything." I love that. I also love fellow Brazen member Jenny Blake's book, "Life After College." Jenny and I talked about getting out of the achievement mentality that school often encourages and learning how to succeed on your own terms. Read the full interview here: http://bit.ly/gMjPeI. She's brilliant!

Electronic Databases, Google Books, how to actually use a huge library, how to actually utilize your professional network and, most importantly, where to look for help when you don't know the answers.

Cooper: I think it depends on the field. I am pretty certain I needed grad school, but my graduate degrees are not in business.

La Donna Lokey What was your worst ever interview experience? What went wrong, and what, if anything, did you learn?

It's funny bec my blog started out as workplace issues but as I made my way through the job search process, I was absolutely stunned, horrified at the overt acts of rudeness and bad manners by hiring mgrs. I don't remember ppl being this openly cruel in the past so I decided to chronicle it.

I understand wht happened to Jason. You apply for one position and then call u in for something else. the "job title" switcheroo is what I call it. I wrote about that too bec it also happened to me. They don't tell you that they're interviewing u for a different position until u get there.

The woman conducting the pre-interview didn't even know what position I was interviewing for, and when I told her she literally laughed and said that her boss "liked to get creative with the job titles, that position doesn't even exist." She then tried to convince me that I wouldn't like the job.
The interview that followed with said boss didn't go much better. When he saw that my degree was in Political Science he asked me if I was liberal or conservative. I managed to dodge the question but this was by far the worst interviewing experience I have ever had.

Jamie Nacht Farrell I wrote an article for FORBES after interviewing Gary Vaynerchuck . I sent the article to a trusted colleague who basically said I had not provided the "how" - why Gary and his books, ideas, etc. are different. I read it over and agreed - I had written a bad piece. BUT, I've received 1K blog visitors/emails telling me they're buying the book. What do you guys think? Should I have written differently? If yes, how? HELP - need to learn how to write better! http://t.co/WSawlJo

Because you connected with him, you hooked into his energy and then passed it on to the reader through your words. What you wrote was a review not a thesis on the GV method of CRM. Pat yourself on the back for a great piece because that's what it was. ~Dawn

I almost think that people looking for a direct "how" have missed the bigger point of it all -- which is the "WHY." Tactics can only get us so far; it's the passion behind the action that makes all the difference, and you did a nice job encapsulating this fact about Gary.
