About Me

I graduate from Georgia Southern University in December, 2009 with a B.A. in International Studies with an emphasis in Modernization, Development & Environment, focusing on Asia and Europe.

I am an artist, which is not surprising since I literally grew up above my parent's small art and framing store in Laurel, Maryland. I am a photographer and also work with painting and logo design as a hobby. You can view my work at www.JessicaEmery.com

Choosing International Studies as a major came naturally to me as I am quite the adventurer, with a passion for people. At 18 I was the first in my family to go abroad, taking myself to Dublin to study for the summer, with a few weeks also spent in Italy. I came home with the travel itch and moved to Georgia (as the South is almost a different culture from my home in the Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area - but costs much less to study there than abroad). I spent one year there, then moved to Perth, Australia to study counterterrorism and work full-time at an art gallery.

That is me in a nutshell. I am eager to join the workforce and put all of my studies to use!
