I am currently in Washington DC, seeking a job or professional training in the arts, fashion, events or communications. I have sponsorship for my visa.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (Textiles) from Belfast, Northern Ireland. My work experience includes roles in Fashion Retail, Fashion Design, Office Administration, communications and events organising.
In Belfast, I was employed from June 2010, as Events assistant for an Events company who specialise in organizing arts and fashion events in Northern Ireland. In Albania in 2009/2010, I worked as Executive Assistant to Project Manager on an Engineering project. During my degree, I worked with an Accessories Designer for a year as Studio Assistant. I have exhibited at the Crafts Council of Ireland, Kilkenny, SpaceCRAFT Gallery, The Pump house at Titanic’s Dock and University of Ulster Degree show. I am registered as an Artist/Craftsperson on the Crafts Council of Ireland website: www.ccoi.ie and gain commissions and enquiries from this. I make and sell home accessories, framed pieces, cards and customized clothing.
In addition, I am currently blogging for Panicdots.com and I have previously been assistant at various Belfast cultural and fashion events including the Event Met fashion show ‘Around the world in 80 dresses’, ‘Rock the Kasbah’ for Marie Curie Cancer Care, ‘Neon Night’ for Amnesty International, and N.I.Y.C.E. (Northern Ireland Youth Culture art exhibition).
I wish to transfer the knowledge and the skills which I have developed during my degree and work experience to this field and learn from others working there. I am very passionate about a career within this sector and I really enjoy working with other creative, forward thinking people.
