I recently moved to Colorado to begin my Master's program in Educational Foundations, Policies, and Practices at the University of Colorado at Boulder. My career began in my home state of Texas where I taught high school English for three years and GED and ESL classes for adults for one year. Both experiences engendered in me a strong interest in reforming the way we educate our citizens. As a first year Master's student, I am still honing my research interests but my hope is that this pursuit will lead me to a position in either government, public education, or the non-profit sector that will enable me to impact the changes in which I passionately believe.
I assist with programming and special events for students and scholars that come to the University of Colorado at Boulder from around the world.
I taught two ESL and two GED classes that varied in skill levels.
I taught 11th grade English for all three years of my time in La Vernia, 10th grade English for one year, and 12th grade Humanities for two years. I also coached the Ready Writing Team and co-sponsored the Junior Class Prom Committee.
