I am writing an article on freelancing for a website, and looking for anecdotes. Please share a success tip for freelancers, and a mistake to avoid. (In one paragraph or less for each example)
Please say what your career was and what you do now as a freelancer in one sentance. Please respond by July 29. Thanks.
I can only use a few examples in the article, so even if I get a big response the answers will still benefit this group, I'm sure. Thanks again!

But other than the obvious things like having a clear contract and hiring (and paying what they're worth) good people to work with you, I would say the most important thing for me has been to trust my intuition when selecting a client. If you meet with them, either by phone or in person, and you get a feeling they will be difficult, then nine times out of ten it has turned into a long, drawn out, and extremely inefficient project. If a client doesn't know what they want up front, or if there's too many cooks in the owner's kitchen, take these as a red flag and run away. I'd say following your gut can easily help you avoid the dreaded 80/20 situation, where 20% of your clients take of 80% of your time. 94 weeks ago

Quick question: what is your favorite activity when you feel uninspired to do what you are supposed to do for love, like blogging, even though you are physically and mentally energized (not being depressed or something like that)?
In case of blogging I write comments to other blogs to practice writing and to take fresh ideas.

Thank you Jessica, Jennifer - getting outside and off to a non-technology world - haven't considered much but I will do so from now! 120 weeks ago

I log onto www.last.fm, choose a random song and let it flow through me. Trying something new always opens my mind. 117 weeks ago
