Patrick Ambron Which do you guys hate more. Writing a cover letter or redoing your resume?

Jeannie Chan: @Jason: Your email is your cover letter, if you're sending your resume electronically.

We get hundreds of resumes for any given position, all submitted electronically. Most important is to have your "cover letter" as the body of your email. Nothing long-winded, just a simple value proposition that demonstrates you understand the position and you have the skills needed to do it well.

For your resume, with a quick skim we want to see u have the core skills backed w/results.

Jason Lundberg I am surprised to see that NBC Universal made the list but there is no mention of General Electric -the parent company of NBC. GE has, in my opinion, one of the top leadership training programs for Gen Y in the country (which I understand wasn't necessarily a criteria of this review). Great to see the Accounting firms represented. Perhaps a comparison of this list to the top 50 places to launch a career would provide some additional insight.

Kelly Cuene: Jason - Great observation about GE. Their leadership training programs are extremely popular among the students I work with.

Interesting to see Grant Thornton top the accounting firms on this list. I wonder if it's because their employees have better work/life balance? Better pay?
