Jason K Played 9 last week and this week. Continue to struggle in hitting it a little thin. My stance is correct (I think) but something is a little off in my backswing. Amazing how much succes depends on such tiny details in something seemingly unrelated. Back to the driving range for me!

Penelope Trunk @Stanley Lee - I see you set up a forum topic about advice for soon-to-be graduates. As the founder of Brazen Careerist I feel like it's okay to say that I hate the forums. Too difficult to navigate. So I'm moving the discussion over here. And, I'll start by saying that the advice to everyone else here applies to you. Managing your career is nonstop, and you can start now. Which you are, right? By being here. Pretend you already graduated. Then start doing now what you'd do then.

Check out Charlie hoehn's ebook about recession proof job hunting for college grads. He has good strategies for getting meaningful experience

I've come to a lot of self-realization of a lot of mistakes that I have been guilty of doing as listed even for my internships. It provided me a lot more motivation to start up my blog and to rethink what I want in terms of future lifestyle once I'm done with whatever errands I have at the moment.

Eric Marshall Hi Penelope! When an potential employer asks you, either on the application or in the interview, the reason that you left your position with X company, what is the best way to respond? I'm looking at it from the angle of "I have quit" or "I was laid off."

When we asked that question, we were more interested in what the applicant was looking for in our opening & company - not so much why they actually left the old one. Also, we used that question to test their honesty. Background checks can reveal whether or not they are currently employed. To P's point, use the question to sell yourself rather than explain your past.

Jason K P- can you give your opinion? Writing a book to extend my reach as a process / re-engineering specialist (a professional streamliner of business chaos). Self publish or traditional publishing?

128 weeks ago from Ask Penelope Trunk!

Penelope Trunk: Yes. And self-publishing is fine. Make sure it's edited really well, though.

Randy Zeitman I like to cheat at golf. Once I got a hole in one and put a zero on the card.

143 weeks ago from Golf

Daniel Hoo: my kind of cheating is this : putting an 8 on a par 4 when it was a 10......

Randy Zeitman: I tell people I regularly shoot 72. And I do. I play a par 3 course.

Vanessa Alvarado Engineering School: Level of difficulty? Best way to get started? Any grants available? Any specialized loans available? Do tell.

Jason K: Difficult-yes. Much more so than an MBA. Have to have a knack for math & logic...just my $0.02 worth.

Vanessa Alvarado: I appreciate it. I pity the fool for wanting to subject himself to it all when he's bad @ math. I'll relay the advice!
