About Me

My professional experience lies primarily in the corporate publishing/media industry, though I have a range of experience with nonprofits and freelancing/entrepreneurship.

My strengths are developing valuable content and experiences across multiple platforms/channels, engaging communities (both online and in print), using new tools and technologies to engage and grow audiences, building communities around a special-interest area, and coaching creative people.

While I feel a close connection to the arts and am empathetic to artists of all kinds, I bring a business mind to all of my interactions that helps people make a sustainable living from their dreams.

I am a highly experienced speaker and teacher, and have spoken at more than 200 events since 2001.

I can always say I've had a successful day when I managed to help someone or speed them on their path to success.

TRADITIONAL MEDIA: book and magazine publishing (both editorial and business sides), contract negotiation, book development and content editing, book acquisitions, self-publishing methods, working with authors and freelancers, brand management, direct-to-consumer marketing.
