About Me

I am the enterprise community manager, strategist, and evangelist for EMC’s enterprise community offering, EMC|ONE. Working within EMC’s eBusiness and Marketing organization, I have a hand in helping to drive overall social media strategy, looking at opportunities to integrate social media and community into the daily lives of EMCers, both internally as a team collaboration tool, and externally as a way to engage with customers, partners and prospects.

Within this role, I work very closely with internal constituents who also share a passion to drive social media collaboration throughout EMC, including EMC executives, PR, marketing and communications, active and prospective bloggers, active and prospective community managers, and end users of EMC|ONE.

I am responsible for actively engaging the EMC|ONE community, communicating news and events regarding the community, receiving and responding to feedback from the community, developing FAQs and tutorials for end users and community managers, and best practices for making the most of the experience. I am always actively engaged with a variety of groups at EMC looking to become more active in the community, as well as end users just looking for guidance on where and how to start.

In addition to my role as a community manager and strategist, I also serve as one of EMC’s primary advocates who understands the dynamics and value of communities, the power of web 2.0, and the most successful methods to get people engaged. That puts me in a very unique position to meet with all sorts of individuals and organizations who are interested and often engaged in social media. I have the pleasure of being involved in lots of interesting and insightful conversations with other companies who are interested in or currently engaged in communities and share insights and best practices with their teams as they get up and running with their own communities. I have also had the opportunity to share what EMC has been doing in a few speaking engagements.

When I’m not online (which is incredibly rare), I enjoy reading, writing poetry, and spending time with family and friends. I am always interested in the latest information on social media, online collaboration and networking, and web technologies in general. And I have a strong passion for studying organizational behavior, change, and general organizational dynamics.
