Cameron Plommer Are Wordpress blogs on the downfall? What's your take on leverage Tumblr and YouTube as a vehicle to spread your brand, company and ideas?

I personally believe that people should take ownership of their content and running their own blog whether that's WordPress, Drupal or whatever. It's just important not to create all your content inside of corporate silos. It's better for someone to publish on a WordPress blog with a plugin that pushes their posts to Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter.

YouTube is a little different because 1) it's hard for average people to encode and publish video on the web without the help of a YouTube, Vimeo, or the like. 2) They aren't creating their content on YouTube, but rather they are just publishing it. In theory they could cross post to Vimeo if YouTube banned them.

Michael Rubino In a day and age where "personal branding" is becoming more and more important, how difficult is it to change the course of your brand, or "re-brand" yourself? Is it possible to take off one virtual hat and put on another, now that your professional and social history follow you regardless of location?

As Nietzsche once said: "The philosopher believes that the value of his philosophy lies in the whole, in the building: posterity discovers it in the bricks with which he built and which are then often used again for better building: in the fact, that is to say, that building can be destroyed and nonetheless possess value as material."

Danny J McElhinny With Borders closing its brick and mortars today, I can't help but think about all the intelligence floating around Brazen. So I am curious, if you had a chair at the executive table at Borders, what are some ideas you would propose to reinvent the business?

I also agree with Edward that they needed to differentiate themselves in some way from B&N through marketing or whatever. I mean Target, Walmart, and Kmart are essentially the same type of store, but in the mind of consumers, there are slight but significant differences. The company's marketing could've used a little help.

I would say borders needs to go for smaller and much trendy stores which would cater to the needs of both kind of readers(the e-readers and the book lovers)like they should have a few copies of the book to provide the customer an opportunity to read through the pages and definitely promote it's business on e-readin apps. When I say smaller stores I don't mean the coffee shops in the stores should go away because they are the reason people like to visit book stores.
The go-green generation's mantra is to circulate used books so Borders needs to improve it's used books market.

Michael Rubino It's true that who we are can be defined, in part, by what we do. Ideally, what we do should also be representative of who we want to be. Our existence is basically circuitous: Who we want to be influences what we do, which influences who we are, which influences who we want to be, etc. In reality, though, who really acts in accordance with their ideal self-perception, whether it be work-wise or in personal life?

Megan Atkinson Today, I shared a video with my readers that includes some hilarious street interviews with people about energy. The answers are astounding: http://wp.me/p1kAA3-6N - very few people actually understand what it is that they're paying for when they get their energy bills. It begs the question: What other kinds of products are out there that are so universally needed that people just buy-buy-buy without knowing what the product even is?

ComEd has a ton of energy efficiency rebates and free stuff, right now!). Most utilities offer an up-charge service though: pay a small additional fee and your fee will be used to invest in renewable energy sources. I don't think there are many (or any?) all-renewable utility companies though. =/ That's what makes it tough to get renewables up and running in the mainstream energy market. You either have to "invest in it" on a purely financial scale, build it for yourself on your own property, or go without. Utility regulations typical prohibit more than one utility to generate power for any given location.

Jaclyn Schiff Do you often hear people misuse the word "blog?" This tweet from Rosie Pope of Bravo's Pregnant in Heels is an example of what I mean: http://bit.ly/iMMPRH A blog is a type of publication, such as a newspaper or a magazine. You wouldn't say, "Read the newspaper I wrote." You'd tell someone to check out your article. The blog equivalent is a post. But it's common to hear, "Read the blog I wrote last night," or something similar. Have you noticed this? Why the lack of clarity?

TOP IDEA: Jaclyn Schiff What are the qualities of must-read blog content? I think powerful content usually stems from a personal experience or develops based on solid research. Blog posts that really stand out are ones where an author doesn't just give tips, but explains why he or she suggests them and is uniquely qualified to do so. I find that compelling content "shows" instead of "tells."
