I started this out with a long explanation of the myriad series of events that has led me to this point on my career path. However, I'll simply say that after having some hard knocks and unintentionally bouncing from job to job without a really solid plan, I finally have a solid idea of where I want to be and what I'm going to do to get there. Writing is my dream. I'm going to take as many free classes as I can for the moment and beef up my resume toward my desired fields. I'm going to try to take on a few starting freelance jobs and possibly begin getting books together. I'm also going to try to obtain employment with a local pre-school and obtain my Florida Childcare Certificate. I'm going to pursue a double major in English Lit/Creative Writing and Early Childhood Education as well. So far in my search, Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA is seeming like my best option as far as Early Childhood Education is concerned, but they can't offer me a major in English. So the search continues for a college that can offer either a reputable English major or both English and Early Childhood Education. At the moment I am considering moving my family from this small town to my boyfriend's hometown of Philadelphia PA. I'm beginning to think that the move will increase our chances at employment and help jump start our careers.
