Raina: I like the Core Competencies section. Maybe instead of an "Objective" start off with an Accomplishments section?

Research these people in advance, understand what issues their organizations are facing, and talk about their issues. They will see you as a solution to their problems, and this is all the plug you need.

Research the company you are interning for, so you will be able to engage in conversations around the office. Ask other employees smart questions about issues / challenges they are facing. Ask them how you can help in other areas. As an HR Recruiter, I have seen Interns come and go, and I have seen Interns become invaluable and receive offers to convert to full time status. The Interns who are asking for additional ways to contribute are the ones who get noticed.

I was just placed in what was avail instead of what I was qualified for which is the case for a lot of people. I stuck it out mainly because I needed the money and times were slowing down.

And - if the hiring manager is partial towards a certain Agency, it could weigh in your favor.
