I'm graduating from my undergrad business program in 3 months with a Finance degree. I'm trying to get into the start up space, specifically looking at Internet and Tech ventures. What's the best way to go about trying to find opportunities for a recent grad with some experience? I'm using my personal network and sites including Startuply, Brazen, and perusing VC portfolio job boards. Any other suggestions?

I am putting together an internship program at my startup, Livefyre. I am starting with community manager positions but I could see it growing to a larger range of opportunities. They will work remotely and potentially come in to the office once a week of they are local. I want the interns to feel like they are contributing to our company and gaining valuable experience. Do you have any advice for organizing and running the program?

And for the local interns we meet once a week on top of the call. We also use IM/google chat/skype daily to keep in touch with each other. It's almost as good as working in an office together everyday and we try to emulate the "water cooler effect" with the IM chats. It's challenging, but at least one of the executives of the company are always available by phone or chat all day. We also try to get our interns as involved as much as we can with any events we attend so they can see the execs in action. The first time I came to Australia I struggled to follow conversation when people started chatting quickly. It was something I hadn't really anticipated since we all speak English.
It's frustrating because I pride myself on being a social person and good listener. Have you had a similar experience when you're traveling or abroad?

I would ask them their name and where they were from so many times before I figured it out! After some time you'll start to see the patterns. I was confused when someone said "midday"... I had to ask what time that was, and I guess it means noon. :)

I'm relocating to Sydney in just over a week. I'm VERY excited but don't know many people there. My friends and network have helped create some connections for me. I'm also using social networks like Meetup.com and Twitter to find social get-togethers in the city. What other tips do you recommend when moving to a new city?
