Stanley Lee I have just modified my blog's visuals, and I'm wondering your thoughts about what I can improve on my site (http://blog.sysil.com). Thanks for your feedback in advance.

You might also consider making the text area less transparent.

I use the mystique theme for my blog which works well and helps organize your blog

JenG The person doing my blog design is pleading with me to remove the Feedburner count until I'm over 1000 subscribers. I guess the thing is, I'm proud of every single person who takes their free time to read my blog, whether that number is 20 or 2000. What's wrong with leaving it there? I am not ashamed! (For the record, I have about 22 email subscribers who aren't coutned in the Feedburner total yet, so my nubmer, once I get it all worked out, is around 50)

@James: Agree. Terrific story of perseverence. Maybe someday! :)

That's why you need to learn how to outsource. I set up my own web design company (mucho.com.au) 12 years ago because so many people were paying good money for sucky websites and it made me angry. It's still happening but change will come. I want to help more people get it right.

James Thomas Do any of you use the "All in one SEO pack" plugin for Wordpress? I rarely modify the title, description, or tag settings for each post, so I am not sure if it is really helping or not.

Grant Griffiths: Thanks Dain - We will be pushing out 1.6.5 tomorrow and it just keeps getting better.

Meagan Trying to find ways to improve promoting my blog, especially now that I'm going to be posting consistently. Would love to hear what others are doing besides the standard Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn feed.

@Meagan "the blog promotion plan seems to apply more to a business establishing itself."

But you are a business, you are… You Inc ;-) have you ever read "The Personal Branding Blog" (http://personalbrandingblog.com/) or the book Me 2.0 by Dan Schawbel (that is his blog, and he is one of the co-founders of this website I believe). They are both geared to Gen-Y establishing their own identity and reputation online. My own blog is focused on similar issues but geared toward the Gen-X male. I want o use my blog as an apparatus to change careers. I am currently a very well established expert in the field of Database Administration. After twenty years… I want to transition to something new. I want to use my blog, and social media to establish myself in a new field over the next 24 months. In the end game, we may have similar goals for our blogs.

However, I guess I am still hesitant to make that bold step and truly just apply it to myself. I guess now that I've confronted that fact there is only one thing left to do and that's get to work.

Thanks, again. =]

Grant Griffiths Thanks for the conversation about Headway everyone. Disclosure, I am one of the co-founders. If anyone would like, I can provide a huge list of sites on Headway and you can see what is possible with no custom.css and also with it. Also, we will be introducing skins/styles/templates in the next version which will add to the power of the Visual Editor in Headway. I am happy to answer any questions anyone might have about Headway too. On or off list. I don't want to flood it with Headway talk.
