La Donna Lokey I've been reading a bit about group texting apps, such as Beluga, GroupMe, and GroupedIn, which won favor recently at SxSW. Do you use these apps, and if so, for what?

Fleire Castro: I have used Beluga and found it useful for closely knit groups. Very useful. No wonder it has been acquired by Facebook!

I can sort of envision use at a job fair, kind of like at SxSW, where announcements were made to the attendees, or where there could be contests/quizzes, and first respondent gets a prize (or an interview!). How about in your respective fields, is there an application?

Clara Kuo Hey guys, I was just thinking about what kinds of social networks are most likely used on mobile devices. Do you know whether people who own a mobile device would be more likely to adopt Twitter? It would be interesting to see a graph or visual that shows this. I have seen people use Twitter mostly at social media conferences on their laptop and heard on the news that for in Egypt Twitter is popular, and used mostly on mobile phones.

Fleire Castro What is your greatest FRUSTRATION in managing client Facebook pages? Getting likes? Converting them to clients? Running ads? With the changes that Facebook has been implementing almost every month and most of them major, it is no wonder if page owners have at least one frustration. What is yours?

I've been able to learn a ton of strategies and when properly deployed, it all goes well. I've got a ton of client pages that I manage and so far, it really has been a wild ride. Can't wait for what's next. ;-)

Every page has an objective and a challenge at least. @Fleire I've discovered the Questions app on FB which was left unannounced by FB until a co-worker pointed me to it. And the ability to switch between page and your user name? Why didn't FB have any info about how to do that? It took a bit of hunting around to find it. I wish they would announce the new features they announce in some clear fashion. Other than that I would say it's always exciting to see new fans respond and tough to coax those who aren't as social media savvy as all of you!

Jamie Nacht Farrell How many Gen Y's have partnered / worked with Boomers as a strategy for BOTH parties? For me, I met "boomer" Allison Cheston on Brazen, and found her to be a phenomenal mentor. In our conversations, we realized I could help her as well. What is your experience partnering with boomers? Good or bad? Mine has always been GREAT. Allison guest blogged about it here on my blog: http://bit.ly/icO0ss Interested in your feedback / your own experiences???

So if you're trying to get them into blogging, maybe: (1) sign up with a blogging site; (2) post a blog; (3) post a link to your blog post on a social network.

Just some thoughts :)

Louise Hey Everyone, I am starting a website for marketing students and those looking to get into the field of marketing (and related fields) at www.marketinglowdown.com and would love to get your opinion on what you think would make a site like this successful. What do you think will draw people to the website? If you are currently or have recently studied marketing I would love it if you could also complete our survey: http://bit.ly/dtHzNs . I have opened up the site so I can get feedback from you although the design itself is not yet done. I am not yet attracting people to the site but having it open also helps the students that are helping me write content see what is going on. I see you also mentioned having a bulletin board which I already have if you click on "join the community", the members in there so far are the ones helping me set it up. Unfortunately the design is always going to be limited as I don't have enough knowledge myself and I can't afford, at this stage, to get someone to do it for me. I am hoping to draw a student designer in to help out. This site is still in the very beginners stages, and getting feedback from all of you on here now is a great way to help ensure we don't miss anything as we know try and put it all together. Thank you for your feedback!

Fleire Castro Are you gaining traction in your SMM efforts as quickly as your client expects? Want to hear your thoughts. I had a client that quit a project after only 4 months of intense promotion and another one whined about poor fan count just after one month of promotion. (I have read here that it takes an average of 18 months to see spikes in visitor and fan count). How come clients are so impossible to please these days? How do you explain SMM to them?

I mean, shouldn't acting in that way have a negative effect on that person's reputation? You shouldn't be left to take the blame unless there is some extreme circumstance--which is not what you described.

But I am sure clients know that when they award a project, an agency would hire people with different talents or with the case of freelancers - crossource it to other freelancers.

In this case, especially for freelancers 'telling the client' might seem risky. Ie. the client might think 'if you are not going to do it yourself (which what I hire you for), why don't I go to other freelancer and do these things myself?'

Best practice is to let the client know - at least acknowledge that you outsource some of the work. E.g. I outsourced copywriting services for my clients (I let them know I will still be their main contact - and will make sure the articles are in quality)
