-Assist Reinsurance Officers with setting up 60+ treaties operationally and contractually.
-Contract Management-facilitate approval and execution of time sensitive Reinsurance Treaties, Addenda and Endorsements working with Intermediaries and direct Reinsurers. Responsible for overseeing entire contract approval and execution process for the Reinsurance Department.
-Draft contracts and addenda, work with Reinsurance Officers and Legal Department on contract language.
-Maintain compliance and filing requirements, both internally and externally. Respond to all regulatory queries.
-Liason with accounting on all Reinsurance accounting issues including payments, billings, premium adjustments, profit commission approvals.
-Reports and projects-maintain multiple informational exhibits and reports using various computer programs and databases, including premium and loss runs, treaty experience, and participation exhibits.
-Manage a caseload between 50-60 claimants, each claimant holding between 1-10 policies across different blocks of business.
-Maintain a working knowledge of Unum disability products, policies and contracts.
-Operate applicable disability claims systems, including multiple payment and business process management systems, including NaviLink
-Assist in return to work strategies for customers utilizing vocational resources.
-Employ basic medical and technical claims skills as well as an understanding of claim practices and legal procedures
-Provide excellent customer service while engaging with customers on daily basis.
-Effectively utilize internal and external resources
-Resolve conflict and manage difficult situations using negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills
-Worked within specified territory, Southwest and West Coast, to identify, qualify, and pursue leads in a strategic manner to support two outside sales representatives.
-Generated new business through prospecting, research, cold calling, networking and relationship building. Able to identify prospects by utilizing numerous sources including, but not limited to, job boards, blogs, networking websites, and articles.
-Presented services to prospects, including managed services for enterprise databases and applications such as Oracle and PeopleSoft.
-Scheduled appointments for outside sales team and effectively managed customer database utilizing Act software, requiring optimum organization and multi-tasking ability.
-Penetrated targeted prospects, resulting in new accounts.
