About Me

I graduated from Northwest University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. I chose the major even though I knew related career prospects would be slim, but I was, am, and probably always will be a nerd for all things psychology related.

After graduation, I went into human resources hoping to learn more about workplace psychology. Though I was good at what I did, I had the misfortune of working in a somewhat toxic environment. Needing a creative outlet for all that workplace anxiety, I started blogging.

Amazingly, my little blog opened up doors of opportunity into a field I hadn’t even known existed. I applied for a job at Qvisory, a national nonprofit providing education and advocacy to help young people achieve their money, work, and health goals, and was promptly hired as the content manager for their blog about work and career issues. My experience in human resources and recruiting has shaped my perspective on work-related topics, and I get a kick out of providing people with information that will help them in their careers.

In addition to blogging, I enjoy spending time with my husband and puppy, beating guys at video games, baking, eating, and laughing.
