Jim Armstrong What are your thoughts on incorporating video into your online content? My buddy and I are looking to incorporate video into our blog as a way to further drive engagement. We're looking to do this for book reviews, how-to demos and interviews. Looking forward to hearing Brazen community's thoughts on this.

We have shorter attention spans with ever increasing busy lives and social platforms like Twitter (140 characters). If our attention is not grabbed within 30 or less seconds we will not continue on with the content. Video is a better way to grab that attention.

Edward - would like to talk to you more about the formatting ebooks business. - eric erichfriedman*at*gmail

To continue the backgrounds theme, I'm here as an adjunct to revamping an iphone application which is popular but needs updating. Anyone know any iphone guys/gals?? Also Salesforce.com has just sponsored me for a presence on their platform and I'm looking to network with anyone familiar with that space (and their language, 'Apex') as well.

I can get more specific if you contact me. Regards , Eric

TOP IDEA: Rosanne Ferruggia Never underestimate the value of volunteering to develop your professional skills. Some of my best opportunities have grown from a chance to demonstrate my abilities instead of just telling someone. You don't know what kind of experience you'll gain or the people you'll meet, but I do know you only get what you put into it!

It's a great thing to do whether you're looking for a job and when you're working. If you're looking, it gives people an opportunity to see you in action. And you can't beat it for developing contacts--just check out who's on the board and who the organization interacts with beforehand, so you make the most of your time. And it goes without saying that it needs to be a cause you're passionately interested in. I've written more about this here: http://www.examiner.com/career-change-in-new-york/volunteer-to-enrich-yo...

Really before jumping in though, you should ask yourself a few questions - beginning with WHY? Why am I doing this, what am I aiming to achieve?

Happy to give some more advice on the tech side if you need it.

What's your project?

Ethan Stanislawski One thing I'm sick of hearing from business types over the age of 30 is that "everyone my age is always on Facebook/Twitter/YouTube etc" I' have a larger web presence than the vast majority of my friends from high school and college, many of whom don't even have a Facebook profile, some who barely use it. I worry that an entire group of Gen Y'ers are getting ignored by older people who are constantly engaged online. Do you guys see this too?

I'm on Twitter, Facebook, etc. all the time, myself and yeah that's where I'm going to be looking first. And if I google you and nothing interesting comes up, you've added a barrier to entry (in time) for me to find out more about who you are. I want to know what you're passionate about, what boundaries you're trying to push, etc,

If you want me to hoof it and find out more about you (or your disenfranchised friends) the old-fashioned way, it needs to be easy. Give me some contacts, send me a unique and compelling portfolio, whatever. Something that would show me all those things I'm missing because you're not online.

On the other hand, the work I do is tech, so I don't really want any luddites, either. :)

TOP IDEA: Katie Weilbacher The return of FOCUS - is mono-tasking the new multi-tasking? I, the born & bred geek, have been feeling overwhelmed by the constant barrage of data & input. I'm finding that I'm more productive by: prioritizing my day, focusing on one task at a time, addressing urgent matters as they pop up, and then returning to the task at hand. I'm getting more done & like feeling focused. Are you able to "juggle" long-term and make progress? Or do you prefer a focused, mono-task process?

I ask each manager what his priority is for the specific task he assigns me, then use my judgment on what to tackle first. I give myself about a 1-2 hour deadline for that specific task, especially if there are multiple pressing tasks. This is a way to become faster at doing things, by challenging yourself. Then after the deadline, I communicate my progress with the manager(s) involved, so each one knows where I am and can possible delegate some tasks to get the team toward completion.

TOP IDEA: Hannah Kane When I tell people about my daily commute-- usually about an hour on the bus and the metro-- they wince. But I love using public transportation because I have time to prepare for an interview, read a book, check the news, and generally use that time efficiently. Actually, I've really come to depend on it! Plus, what with urban sprawl and traffic making everyone's commutes longer, isn't an hour on the metro more useful than an hour in stop and go traffic?

Sean Wilkins Any thoughts on FB Connect or Twitter Connect log-ins popping up all over the place with new sites? I'm mostly concerned with privacy issues for the user AND their networks since some ask for access to their information as well through your profile. I'm seeing a trend where some sites seem to only allow FB Connect log-ins and not supporting direct sing-ups, or the bury it. This is a turn-off for me as a user/consumer, but I totally understand it as a marketing and business person.

It's nice to be able to share things from some of these other sites and vendors, but there's no point in making a permanent connection that will give them a constant feed of your information. If you want to share something: copy, paste, and attach the link. It takes a few extra seconds, but you don't have to invite any strangers into your home to do it.
