I’m passionate about the potential new media has to make a difference on a global scale by telling stories and sharing information in more engaging, interactive ways. I explore and communicate ways through which media can function positively, and research and share ways journalists can report on controversial issues with sensitivity and understanding. I am interested in innovating new ways to gather, organize, produce and distribute journalistic, information and entertainment media and developing strategic social and digital marketing campaigns.
Currently, I’m a reporter for KOMU-TV 8 News, a columnist for MOVE magazine and am working on research regarding the future of mobile media production. I just returned from reporting at the 2010 Winter Olympics, where we experimented with using an audio application created by VeriCorder Technologies, Inc. to produce audio stories. I’m also a convergence media student at the University of Missouri, where I will graduate in May 2010. I’m excited to begin my post-collegiate career, and I hope to pursue a career in digital media, journalism, strategic communication or media production, though I’m open to other opportunities as well. In June, I'll be moving to New York City for a fellowship with the International Radio-Television Society Foundation.
