Ryan Paugh I just got the best early Christmas present. Ever. My girlfriend got me a 3-year-old rescued English Bulldog. Her name is Lucy and she's awesome. It's a great time for me to have a pet because I'm working location independent and she just hangs out next to me while I talk to all of you guys. Any of you guys have a pet that keeps you company while you work?

Follower #s, ReTweets, and lists are symptoms that you are heading in the right direction. You want to enable people to talk about you behind your back.

Erica Manney By what metrics do you measure success of a social media campaign when your goal is engagement and loyalty, and not necessarily sales?

I usually have some measurable actions on a site apart from sales. It might be RSS, e-mail signup, a polling or trivia question, a comments section, or like/dislike feature. It might be a pain in the butt to set up conversion tracking on all such things...it's up to you.

That book looks great (and she has a blog!). I am going to start looking more at our blog subscribers, etc. It's so hard to come up with tangibles for things that feel so intangible.
