About Me

Ellie is a journalist in New York City and a bit of a blogaholic and media geek. She has found her niche blogging about Generation Y and how the up-and-coming generation is affected by (and affecting) culture, technology, the media and finance. She gets a kick out of weaving together topics such as 401(k)s, fashion and Facebook.

As a senior writer for the online publication eMedia Vitals(eMediaVitals.com), she covers digital strategy for the media industry. Previously she was associate editor for the online and print editions of PLANSPONSOR and PLANADVISER magazines, covering the retirement industry. She began her career (and plunge into business news) writing for Global Custodian in London. While abroad, she wrote about the American experience across the pond for the blog Ellie Goes to London.

She received a bachelor's degree from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, with a specialization in dance and an undergraduate certificate in women's studies. During college she served as managing editor of The Post, a daily, independent, student-run newspaper in Athens, Ohio. She also completed internships with The Chautauquan Daily, The Cincinnati Enquirer and the Dispatch Printing Company, covering topics such as entertainment, fashion, health, lifestyle and women's issues.

When she isn't working at her day job or blogging, Ellie enjoys consuming an insane amount of information, being active and writing poetry.
