About Me

Elle Field is a Professional Pipe Dreamer, aspiring to make her Pipe Dream (writing) her Profession. Elle is currently working on her fourth book.

Her blog, Pipe Dreams and Professions, focuses on her journey to become a published author, as well as delving into the reasons behind cultural myths and legends - every story, whether real or fictional, is made from different influences, just like every person is.

She is a graduate of the University of St Andrews, from where she obtained a M.A (Hons) International Relations - Social Anthropology. Her dissertation explored how society is changing with the emergence of computer mediated social networks. She spent a year on her ethnogaphic site of Facebook to consider how digital communication impacts the way people choose to conduct themselves on and offline. She then studied the subsequent effect this has upon identity construction, and ultimately the meaning and removal of ‘reality’ in an ever-increasing digital world.
