Ryan Paugh I just started reading Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy after seeing The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie. I actually skipped The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (the book) and went straight for The Girl Who Played With Fire. Should I go back and read the first book even though I saw the movie and heard it was very accurate to the storyline?

There are so many nuances that they missed in the movie (I watched it after having read the book pretty recently) And the end of the movie leaves out a key part that the end of the book has.

I was in the same boat, and the first book goes into WAY more detail than the movie, with a few plot differences, too. I'm on the second book right now!

Erin Van Handel 25 cents for flavored milk, courtesy of Sen. Herb Kohl, is my State Fair favorite. Cherry, root beer, strawberry... yum!

Elizabeth Reiter: I've never been to the WI fair but the MN & IA fairs are both pretty awesome. Maybe I can get to WI this year for an accurate comparison!

Ryan Paugh Hey guys. How about that heat wave? Since the weather is getting nicer and nicer I'm really thinking a lot about putting some Madison Tweet Ups together. I'm thinking that the best way to get started is to create a Brazen/Madison Twitter List. So reply below with your Twitter handle so I can start putting a list of people together.

Elizabeth Reiter Just before our vet re-check yesterday my dog ripped her bandage off and chewed an even bigger, bloodier hole in her paw. We are now bandaging for several more weeks. This includes putting a plastic IV bag over her paw every time she goes out to keep the bandages from getting wet. Pets. Gotta love 'em!

Cheryl Lynn Morris: I know what you mean. I'm supposed to get one antibiotic pill into my cat Missy each day, but she's a finicky eater, etc. so it's a real struggle.

Karla Mercado 'Tis the season for Peanuts holiday classics! Started off in October with It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! November, it was A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Can't wait to snuggle up with hot cocoa for A Charlie Brown Christmas!!! Seasonal films can be cheesy but I can't get enough of Peanuts. :)

Karla Mercado: Well put, Vanessa. Aside from the tree I was also particularly drawn towards Charlie Brown's trick or treat bag: "I got a rock." Ha!

Vanessa Alvarado: I forgot about that! Just reading that gag here makes me smile, hilarious!

Daniel Saynuk Anyone here like rabbits? I've got a mini-rex female rabbit who stands up, most of the time, for a treat.

Werkaholic: My daughter has one and she thinks she's smart. Only problem is we can't let her have the run of the house due to 2 dogs.

We just started doing one-on-one bunny classes for new rabbit owners to help people learn how to train and care for them! Sadly, they're really common surrenders because people don't know how to care for them.

Akshay Kapur It's so hot today, Caesar was really panting so I took him on a drive with the AC on (not AC in apt.) Any other cooling off suggestions?

144 weeks ago from Animal Companions

Akshay Kapur: No and yes. I gave him a cool bath and he couldn't wait to get out. Lol, he looked like a rat. Ice cubes were a big hit. Thanks!

Ryan Healy: Great pic, I had never seen anything like that until last night...

Elizabeth Reiter: It was amazing! Over here in Sun Prairie it looked like feathers on a wing. And the colors were gorgeous. I took a bunch of pics, too.

Elizabeth Reiter Wondering if anyone else has a dog who suffers from seizures. If so, have you noticed any patterns in what seems to trigger them?

149 weeks ago from Animal Companions

Elizabeth Reiter: The vet told me they wouldn't medicate unless there was more than one episode within 30 days. But I don't know if this was the drug.

Karla Mercado: I hope it's nothing too serious and that your dog feels better soon, Elizabeth!

Karla Mercado Do you guys dress up your pets? Share your thoughts on doggy/kitty clothing.

150 weeks ago from Animal Companions

Elizabeth Reiter: Personally I don't care for dressing up pets. Animals have fur for a reason. I couldn't find clothes to fit my lab/husky mix anyway!

Karla Mercado: That is true. I don't dress up my beagle. Not too often at least. He hates it. And yes, not a lot of choices for large breeds.

Karla Mercado What other pets do you guys have? This is strange, but I once had a lobster named Gary who lived in a tiny fish bowl.

Elizabeth Reiter: I have a rabbit named Porgi. He's house trained and is a lot of fun but also very mischievous.
