It seems as though people are definitely more willing to donate if they know their actions will have an immediate impact, more so than mailing a check/non-perishable goods. 122 weeks ago

Using web text (in my opinion) isn't aesthetically appealing and doesn't look professional. I think that this is the first step in creating a personal/blog brand (especially since your domain is your name). The second suggestion is having a short one paragraph elevator pitch about you and your blog on the home page. What makes your PR/personal blog different than the others? 127 weeks ago

My only recommendations would be to make the title of the blog bigger than the titles of your post. The headings should always flow down in a waterfall of size. Also I would consider breaking up your posts with pictures or visuals in some way so they are not such blocks of text. 127 weeks ago

I never thought of it that way before, thanks for sharing! I've continued to work retail after college while looking for full time work in PR and/or marketing. I am now doing an unpaid internship in PR/Marketing while still working retail for income. Can't wait to get out of retail, but maybe this outlook will make it a little more bearable for the time being!

I worked in retail throughout HS and College and thought those positions would be ugly blights on my resume. Turns out, (like you say in your post) some of the skills I learned as a Sales Associate such as conflict resolution, persuasion and spoken communication skills are invaluable to me in my chosen "real" career in PR. 132 weeks ago

However, I believe my former career in television and radio was the biggest help. When I switched into the PR field, I knew what assignment desk editors and journalists would be looking for. Even with the changing times, social media wise, I've been able to adapt because of my news background. It was a tremendous help! 132 weeks ago
