About Me

Drew Slater is a creative and energetic public relations student at the University of South Florida who wants to take advantage of every learning opportunity. He aspires to be successful in the professional world. Drew realized he needed a change of scenery after spending two years at Florida State University. He ended up in Tampa, Fla., where he plans to practice after college.
Drew works extremely well with others and has gained excellent communication skills through his various customer service jobs, which include Red Lobster, the FSU Bookstore and currently he is at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Even though he is still only a student, Drew has gained experience in public relations through his internship at the Museum of Science & Industry. Here he gained experience writing press releases, updating social media websites and creating media kits among other things. Starting this semester Drew is not only the director of marketing for USF’s Public Relation Student Society of America chapter, but he will also be interning for the Tampa Bay Lightning doing community relations. He’s excited to learn how to develop fundraisers and create events to get the community involved with the Lightning.
Drew is an avid sports fan who enjoys not only watching, but also playing sports. He stays in shape by going to the gym and playing basketball when her can. He enjoys reading suspense and adventure books at night in order to relax. Drew is very proud of his Jewish heritage which taught him a very good work ethic as well as the importance of family.
