About Me

I have been in the "Internet Recruiting" space going on my 10th year now. I have seen a lot, been through mergers, acquisitions, and total liquidations. The stuff that makes your skin thick and your eyes a bit keener. I began my career selling resume database access and job postings on a website called InfoWorksUSA in the late 90's. Unfortunately, all the revenue we brought in was mismanaged and their doors shut sometime in 2001 or so. From there, I did some recruiting and sourcing for a CMM and Function Point Analysis firm in New Jersey. I have worked at JobCircle.com, HireHealth.com, and BioSpace.com learning, selling, consulting, and schmoozing alongside some of the best and most animated salespeople and colleagues ever. I love working with HR professionals, we are humans too, and for the most part we are a pretty cool bunch.

Currently, I am at OptiJob working on some Search Engine Optimization for job posting projects. Call it a passion project. We have been in the job board business for a long time and have been watching applicant traffic for over 10 years and one thing is certain, the internet is ever-evolving and if Human Resource managers and recruiters don't stop to take a look, they may get left behind. Conventional job boards are a necessary evil, but to get ahead, we have to be innovative. One way is to free up our job postings to become part of the free index of sites like Google and Yahoo! to get our message out there. In recruiting and talent acquisition, we are selling jobs. And, millions of people are searching for our jobs every day on search engines, but if they can't find them, they won't ever have the opportunity to buy them. If you Google the postings on your website, would you find them?
