Hello, my name is David, and I manage and produce written content for a little 20-something advice blog called How to Not Screw Up Your Life. I have previously maintained two other blogs as well. People Sales, my first blog centered around things sales people could do to gain trust and respect in a world that is predisposed to thinking of them as snakes. GoblinStop, my second blogging foray, highlighted the interesting things happening at the intersection of social media and hobby gaming.
When I am not blogging you can find me playing guitar, hitting the gym, or cooking up a storm.
TMI Factoid: I fall asleep pretty much every night to DVDs of The Office, any and all seasons.
I plan and coordinate weekly culinary classes at a retail store, which includes marketing the events to customers through in-person, phone, and email communications. I also train the sales staff on how the products we use in class will benefit our customers, as I am responsible for the culinary program's effects on our sales revenue and profitability.
I trained, coached, and managed a high-end retail sales team. This included working closely with my Culinary Coordinator to ensure that proper emphasis was placed on the products on which the cooking classes were focused, and working with my sales team to translate that focus into sales revenue.
I operated a commercial laser printing press for a financial documents manufacturer. I was very active in our process improvement initiative, in which I implemented an idea to improve the communications flow to weekend shift associates.
