I am moving forward on my business plan and am making good progress, so I will be seeking funding soon. I will try to keep track of all the lessons learned to share with people later.

Half of all small businesses fail; I'm willing to bet that a majority of those failures planned for the best or didn't plan at all.

Make sure there is an exit plan. Yes every founder of every business needs one, they aren't just for e-commerce start-ups!
