Daniel Bowen graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship. In school he co-founded two start-ups, co-wrote an award winning business plan, competed in business plan competitions nationwide, and was an inaugural member of the Entrepreneur Mentor Society.
Upon graduation Daniel moved back to Texas and married Mary, his high school sweetheart. Shortly after getting his first job as an analyst in the Treasury department of a Fortune 500 company, he founded Young and Frugal, a blog dedicated to business and personal finance for millennials. With his blog he hopes to educate millennials on smart personal finance, entrepreneurship, business, and making life easier.
After slowly growing the blog and being featured in Forbes Magazine, Daniel decided he no longer wanted to "preach to the choir" but instead challenge people to make a change. On April 1, 2010, just over 2 years after its founding, Young and Frugal became a site dedicated to a series of Young and Frugal challenges where Daniel challenges regular people across the nation to accomplish random and fun tasks on a frugal budget. Once those people accomplish the tasks, they do a write-up and submit it back, then Daniel puts friends, enemies, and total strangers up against each other and the Young and Frugal readers vote on a winner who wins cash.
Daniel Bowen's blog is Young and Frugal.
