Daniel Hoang is an experienced strategic planner, auditor, and consultant. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Washington and a Masters in Public Policy from Pepperdine University. He writes about his experiences in consulting and auditing methodologies and techniques for analysis and management. His training is grounded in governmental issues and influenced by members of the baby boomer generation.
As a member of Gen Y, he has had multiple jobs and lived in many different locations, most notably Malibu, CA where he had an ocean view. When he's not working, he likes to watch reality TV, spend time with his wife, and cook.

Evaluate programs and services, assess financial performance, examine business processes and practices, and deliver realistic and affordable solutions to help increase efficiency and effectiveness

Conduct performance and compliance audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAO Yellowbook). Audits include medical contracting practices and compliance with State contracting laws and regulations, review of County and Court compliance with DNA Penalty Fund requirements, and Federal Compliance audit of the Employment Development Department. Additional projects include oversight of IV&V and IPOC contractors for the State FI$Cal project, and an internal implementation of PwC TeamMate electronic audit software.
IT strategic planning, municipal software procurement assistance, feasibility analysis, staffing analysis, change management planning, application portfolio strategy. Projects include development of an IT strategic plan for the City of Boise, ID and City of Surrey, BC. Additional projects include procurement assistance for tier-2 government ERP software for a water district and a municipality.
