About Me

I'm newly married, in April 2008 and enjoy spending time with my wife watching movies, taking walks, being with our families. I also enjoy the solitude and peace of reading and writing.

I'm Irish Catholic and proud of my heritage and am looking forward to a return to our family roots in the Aran Islands later this year.

I'm interested in politics, and consider myself a culturally displaced Democrat. I think the pre-1968 Democratic Party that represented my grandparents and produced the urban pols that ran the cities was the greatest political party in American history. I deplore the Leftist revolution that overtook it and consider Ronald Reagan (himself a Democrat until the 1960s) to be our greatest president.

I'm passionate about sports and love a good evening out at Camden Yards here in Baltimore, or even closer to home at Ripken Stadium (minor league) in Aberdeen. I love road trips built around sporting events, especially if they involve Boston and Fenway Park or going back home to the Milwaukee area to watch my old friends play amateur ball, or take in a Wisconsin Badger game.
