Brett Kunsch I'm rebranding and revamping my website/blog this month. I've heard Genesis and Thesis are great, and want something that a non-developer (i.e. ME) can use. I want to be able to basically do anything my crazy mind thinks up with with an easy to use design dash that integrates with Wordpress. Any recommendations? BIG thanks all :)

TOP IDEA: Jon Bishop I found a very bad call to action plugin on WordPress so I decided to create my own that made use of WordPress 3.0 custom post types and sidebar widgets. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/call-to-action/ It is very much still in beta but I am using it on my site with great success. The plugin displays a Call to Action in your sidebar based on the current category. Just assign each Call to Action with a few categories and you are good to go. Let me know how I can make this better.

Some of them may have started out with good intentions but they have become for profit ventures with low grad rates who accept anyone, and they need increased scrutiny.

My fields don't lean themselves to online degrees and I wold not hire someone with an online degree but I understand business degrees from some of these schools do ok.

Of course all the scandal regarding the industry in recent years hasn't made my opinion any better.

I am a graduate with a BSB/A from University of Phoenix and am currently having difficulty finding a job in relation to my degree. I wondered if employers were hiring more people with a degree from a traditional setting. I worked very hard online and invested a lot of time everyday and received a high GPA. I wonder if employers even care about a GPA. Phoenix is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, in comparison to other schools its accredited much the same. If I were to do it over, I would have attended in a traditional setting due to the fact that online was relatively boring and I could have learned more from the experience of a college setting.

Laura McCallum Has anyone else seen this video entitled "Validation"? No matter who we are, and what we do, we all seek to be validated by others. Whether an online degree is the best option is going to depend on what field you are looking at.

Also, some industries have a bias against online degrees as being "fake." If you encounter that bias from the management in your industry/company, then an online degree may hurt as much as help your career.

I think receiving good education gives individuals the fundamentals necessary to run a business such as basic business math, accounting and market research. I'm not discounting individuals who have succeeded despite not going to college but if you look at the numbers, they occupy a very tiny percentage. My end point is having a degree doesn't guarantee a successful business but it does minimize the risk of failing.

Ryan Paugh I got engaged over the holidays after spending a lot of time waiting for the right moment. Afterward, I realized is that timing isn't everything. I should have proposed a long time ago, but I kept telling myself it had to be perfect. Perfection isn't just about timing. It's also about acting on opportunities to make your life happier. I think that's the same in our careers too. Spend less time waiting for the timing to be right and more time doing what you think will make you happy.

Ryan, Congratulations. Best wishes to the two of you.

I think timing matters some of the time when it involves needs but otherwise, it's a self inflicted thing we do. When to pop the question matters when one side is not ready to move on. When you're both on the same page, one day does not matter out of 70 years of sharing a life.
