For 15 years, I have built and managed online communities, Web-based editorial networks, and the business processes that run them. I am a seasoned consultant, editor, writer, and product manager.
I began my career in automated Software Quality Assurance, ensuring that products met quality standards without missing deadline or budget targets. My clients have included major electronics manufacturers, gaming companies, systems integrators, and non-profits.
At CNET Networks, I managed development and production teams for the world’s largest consumer technology Web sites. I helped transition CNET’s Web properties from static HTML to the industry’s first enterprise-class Content Management System, bringing together geographically dispersed teams of writers, editors, and designers in a unified workflow with a single toolset.
As an analyst and consultant with Jupiter Research, I created and led its Web Products group, which streamlined editorial business processes, selected technology partners, and implemented an automated Content Management System to publish customized business-to-business editorial portals for more than 1000 research clients. I have also led executive strategy sessions for dozens of government agencies and Fortune 1000 companies, including America Online, Symantec, The United States Mint, Ford Motors, and Sprint/Nextel.
As an analyst and consultant, I have written more than 100 white papers, syndicated research papers, sales process guides, and other technology and business documents. One of my product reviews was referenced as evidence by Netscape CEO Jim Barksdale in United States V. Microsoft 98-1232. My editorial clients include Research in Motion, Borland Software, Avocent, and International Data Group.
