I think writing a bio or an About page is as hard of a thing somebody can do, myself included. Is it what you do to make money? What if making money isn't what you want to be known for? Is it what you used to do to make money? Ditto for that one too. Or should I ramble on about my preoccupation on education reform.
Channeling my marketing mind - maybe my About page should reflect what want my readers want to hear. That would assume I knew, which I don't. Should I mention my college, even though aside from promoting rock bands, it had no real bearing on my life. Or should I talk about the being a single parent of my daughter, Alex and the impact - personally and professionally, it had on me.
Should my About page be about my life over the last few years - which has been like a 'box of chocolates,' as my Australian friend, Annalie Killian says. Sometimes it's good and ... well sometimes, it's like those awful ones with the cherries in them. Thank God for a waterproof tent and for the adage: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
Or should I go into detail about the new company I'm launching, the bleedingEDGE and my take on loyalty marketing.
Since I've learned to write earlier this year - I knew how to write, but you know what I'm talking about; I'm going to just let you decide whatever you think I'm About by reading this blog and more importantly my Twitter stream @clayforsberg.
And if you feel inclined at any time ... jump in and comment wherever, here or on Twitter and tell me what you're about.
Until then ...
Clay
